Dragon Fire Has Begun

Well, the call for artists and animators is out. I’m looking forward to getting this very ambitious project off of the ground after it being stuck mostly in my head for nearly a decade.

For those of you who don’t know, Dragon Fire is an animated project I’ve been developing for some time. Check out the previous link to see some conceptual art and the basic story, along with some script samples.

Currently underway is it’s official website at, www.theonehero.com, which will be up in the next few weeks. There, you’ll be able to follow the progess of the world and animated beginnings.  It’ll be a super fancy site.

Let the path towards world domination begin!

Submissions

Posted in The Biz, Time Machine on January 17th, 2007 by Phil Abatecola

Keeping it short… and real.

On this long journey of festival submissions, and the one success so far, I’ve continued submitting, sending out ten others today. We’ll see.

Other than that, the re-writes on The Time Machine have begun. Much work is needed, yet I am still excited at the prospect of doing something completely live. No breaks, no do-overs, and no cuts. I figure that if I can get through an hour or so without any serious issues, I can get through any five minute scene.

On the down side, two scripts of mine, Thundersnow and As Long as I Live, were rejected from the Slamdance horror screenplay competition. Oddly enough, I know one of their readers personally. He said he didn’t read mine, but you never know. I think they’ll soon realize their mistake once I make enough money to fill up my gas tank and get down there. THEY’LL BE SORRY!

Wah.

Tomorrow, the third season of Hell’s Kitchen begins. It’s the first line of consistent work I’ve had in a while. The money will be good, but the productivity on my personal projects will suck.

I guess I can make myself feel better with all the ice cream I can now buy.

Mashti Malones, here I come!

Rambling later…

I’m In!

Well, it’s official folks, The Chase has been accepted into the Dallas AFI Film Festival. Well, I guess it’s sorta unnoficial until I have the freakin’ letter, but I received an email indicating that I was in and that an official letter is in route.

It’ll be my second trip to the famous metropolis and, hopefully, fun, productive and insane.

More to come…
