Finally, Some Updating!

Posted in The Biz on February 24th, 2007 by Phil Abatecola

Finally, I have made some good on my promise to add some cool stuff to the Rounding Home page.

So, for all of your enjoyment, I’ve uploaded some images of me on the job, still shots from the film and a poster that I’ve been toying with.

Check it out here.

Rounding Home Premiered

Sitting in my metaphorical puddle of urine, I waited as everyone took their seats. My first feature film was about to be screened in public for the first time and all I wanted to do was fast forward to the end.

I don’t remember who, but somebody asked me if I would be giving a speech. All I could think of was the last time I did decided to meander into that public arena. Not good. So, I politely said no (I’m sure you noticed my clever avoidance of that story). Read more »

The Chase Must Come Down

Posted in The Biz on February 20th, 2007 by Phil Abatecola

So, an unexpected side effect of getting into the AFI Dallas Film Festival is that I am required to take down all of my Internet videos of The Chase. So as of today, I’m going to be disabling the videos until April 2nd.

I suppose the juice is worth the squeeze in this case.

In better news, Over the Wall, a film I wrote, has been accepted into two film festivals, the Beverly Hills Shorts Festival and The Other Venice Film Festival.

This being the case, 2007 is looking to be very busy.

More to come…

…and I wish I had a persona, an alternate personality by which I could use to sail through the never-ending puzzles and forks in the road, steal from the weak and destroy anyone I pleased with utter impunity.

That’s right, I did the calculations, give or take a healthy amount of actual math. That’s how long I’ve been living and working in Hollywood up until this very moment. Did I mention that I was terrible at math in high school? Funny, I hated the ones who were good at it. Read more »

The Argument

Posted in The Biz on February 7th, 2007 by Phil Abatecola

Greetings. I am regrettably writing this letter to inform you that
your film was not accepted into the 2007 Other Venice Film Festival.
This year was an incredibly difficult festival to program. We had a
plethora of quality films to choose from and many works that were
enjoyed and appreciated could not be accepted, due to space. Next
year will be our fifth year and we are going to make a serious move
to expand. Again, I am truly sorry that we cannot program your film
into this year’s fest, but we appreciate the support and hope that
you can find some time to visit our festival come this March. Good
luck with your cinematic endeavors.
