It’s official, I’ve officially become drunk with power. You can thank the wonderful people of AFI Dallas for providing me with the necessary ego. They’ve made me faster, stronger, better and more articulate than I could have ever imagined.

Posted by AFI Dallas is an interview they conducted of James and I regarding The Chase, our film that screened in Dallas and that will be screening May 9th at the Silverlake Film Festival.

For those on the mailing list, here is an update for the film I wrote called Over the Wall.  This Sunday, at the Newport Beach Film Festival, OTW will be playing on the 22nd of April.  This is the fourth festival our short has been accepted to and it is the largest.

Please, come on down and support this great film as we are in competition for awards.

CLICK HERE, and you can buy tickets, check out some great photographs and swear your undying loyalty to General Zod.

See you there.

Nothing Won, But Much Gained

Posted in The Biz on April 9th, 2007 by Phil Abatecola

Leaving AFI Dallas was a touch painful. I was battling a sickness, but more hardened was the feeling that we might not be back next year. We didn’t win an award, even though there was a chance. Word came down to me from one of the judges, and I’m not going to name names, is that as a collective the judges really loved The Chase. Even in a festival where our chances of winning an award were slim, the opportunity to participate was a win enough in this case. At such a high profile event, you’re given access to many people who who might get your next project made. You are surrounded by hordes of people who seem to be floating on the same cloud of possibility that you are.

And it’s all a party.

So it’s off to the races for James and myself to see if we can get something made to be around next year. If not with Mr. Crocket, then I’ll do it myself. I have some ideas floating around my head, but I have too many responsibilities to take one on at the moment. First is this script I’m writing for hire and second is the play. Only then can I focus on the next cinematic project.

Anyway, speaking of that script…

Here I go…

Easter Feaster

Easter is upon me and finally I’m feeling better.  Ever since I returned from Dallas I’ve been fighting a cold/flu/I don’t know that progressively worstened until Wednesday when I was officially laid out.

Today, I feel better, still sick, but better, and over the next couple of days I’ll recount some stuff from Dallas and tell of the great news that has been swirling around my sick little head.

Until that time, the Bunny is out… grab the shotgun.

Hopping…
